Lunch & Learn Series

Digital Services are excited to announce the next round of sessions in the Lunch & Learn Series, a fortnightly online practice-sharing event that provides staff across the university the opportunity to share and celebrate innovative practice and learn from each other. Sessions will take place on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 13:00-13:30.

There will be a brief introduction, a 15-minute demonstration and explanation of the benefits, followed by a 10-minute Q&A/discussion.

Session # 5: Developing your Blackboard module with AI Design Assistant – Wednesday 12th March, 13:00-13:30

Luke will introduce attendees to the AI Design Assistant and AI Conversation tools used to develop both module content and simulation-based learning activities within your Blackboard Ultra course.


Session #6: Generative AI for Simulated Conversations – Wednesday 26th March, 13:00-13:30

Mike Shaw (LALT) & Dean Walker (School of Health & Care Sciences)

Mike Shaw and Dean Walker show us how they’ve used Generative AI to prepare and run conversation simulations.


Session #7: Introduction to Turnitin Draft Coach – Wednesday 9th April, 13:00-13:30

Steve Cameron (Digital Services) & Phil Peatling (Digital Services)

Steve Cameron and Phil Peatling will introduce attendees to the new Turnitin Draft Coach, a digital writing assistant that helps students improve their academic writing by providing real-time feedback on their drafts. This tool supports students in producing high-quality, original work by offering insights into similarity, citation, and grammar.
