Posting Marks in Blackboard (Turnitin and Blackboard Assignments)

This guide will help you to post marks in Blackboard Ultra if you are using Turnitin Feedback Studio or Blackboard assignments.

Turnitin Assignments

When you create a Turnitin assignment you can set a Feedback Release Date in the assignment settings.

A screenshot displays the Turnitin Assignment Settings page. An orange box highlights the 'Feedback Release Date' field.

Feedback Release Date settings control the release of grades and feedback automatically to students. To review or edit the feedback release date for your assignment:

  1. Locate the Turnitin assessment on the module.
  2. Click title to launch.
  3. Open settings area (cog symbol at the right hand side).
  4. Review the feedback release date and time.
  5. Click submit to save any changes.
A screenshot displays the Turnitin Assignment Settings page. A calendar pop-up is shown to allow the user to customise the Feedback Release Date.

Blackboard Assignments

Assignments will need to be graded and then you can post the grade and feedback, if applicable, by the post button in the Grade Centre:

  1. Locate Blackboard module.
  2. Click the Grade Centre tab.
  3. Select List View and click post.
  4. or Grid View and click column header and click post.
The Grade Centre tab of a Blackboard Ultra module is shown. An orange box highlights the selected tab title "Items to Grade". A second orange box highlights the "Post" button.
The Grid View of the Grade Centre is shown in Blackboard Ultra. The column header for Assignment 1 has been selected to reveal a pop-up menu. An orange box highlights the "Post" button.

Following either of these sets of instructions, dependant on which assignment is set up, will support you posting grades to students.
