Description: This session supported staff with understanding how phase 2.1 of the ADAPT (ABC) workshop functioned. It gave an overview of the ABC curicculum framework, how this fits in with the current ADAPT & ENABLE approach and gave examples of curriculum maps that have been created.

Description: This session looked at the new Blackboard module set up and considered how online communication differs in blended and online learning approaches as opposed to face to face courses. It also looked at the use of instructive and directive language to guide students through online synchronous and asycnchronous activities.

Description: This session provided information on; how to create a Blackboard submission point and ensure this displays correctly in the Grade Centre, how the Grade Centre can be used for non-typical submissions, setting up weighted columns and other calculations in the Grade Centre, entering marks and feedback and making these available for students.

During the session we used Blackboard Ally to review the accessibility of module content and correct accessibility issues.

Reading, interactive discussion and analytics using Talis Elevate for set reading and creative resources
Title: Reading, interactive discussion and analytics using Talis Elevate for set reading and creative resources
Description: This session introduced the Talis Elevate tool, a new interactive platform to support your teaching and learning. In Talis Elevate, you are able to upload reading extracts in a PDF format and encourage students to make comments and have discussions with their peers right inside the text. You can also upload video, audio and image resources and have similar discussions. Students can make their own, personal notes for revision purposes and you will get access to detailed analytics and reports for each of your modules. This workshop was delivered by colleagues in the Library.
Recording video learning resources and micro-lectures with Panopto
Title: Recording video learning resources and micro-lectures with Panopto
Description: In this session, staff were taken methodically through the decision-making process of when, how and why to include video resources in their teaching. In the second part, staff learned how to plan powerful multi-stage video activities. The session then moved to the penultimate stage of how to record micro lectures and augment these with active learning task for students. The session concluded with reflection and ideas for the future.

In the new upgrade to Talis Aspire you are able to embed select elements of your reading list into your Module Content on Blackboard. So you can now associate specific texts, articles and books with set tasks in your teaching.
