Turnitin: Setting up Assignments

09:15-10:00

Description

Turnitin Assignments are a digital assessment method that allows students to submit predominantly text-based documents, such as traditional essays or reports, and provides the academic teams with access to a range of marking, feedback and academic integrity tools. This shorter, fast-paced session is designed to cover the absolute essentials required for setting up a Turnitin Assignment, for example configuring the assignment title, instructions, due date and feedback release date. Attendees will explore when a Turnitin Assignment is most suitable, as well as gain a better understanding of the ‘student-view’.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this session you will be able to:

  • Distinguish between a Turnitin assignment and other digital assessment tools.
  • Identify which file and document types are accepted by Turnitin.
  • Navigate the optional settings in Turnitin and customise the assessment ‘experience’.
  • Create a Turnitin assignment successfully and access the assignment inbox.
