Turnitin: Rubrics, Grades and Feedback

This session will provide a targeted overview of a range of marking and feedback tools available within Turnitin. This includes a comprehensive exploration of good rubric design and the different rubric types, including both qualitative and quantitative configurations. Attendees will also explore how text-comments, in-line comments (QuickMarks) and audio feedback can be used to support learners in their academic development.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this session you will be able:

  • To recognise the different marking and feedback tools available within Turnitin.
  • To discuss the benefits of different formative and summative feedback approaches.
  • To devise the criteria for good rubric design within your discipline.
  • To produce an example of each feedback type (rubric, text-comments, audio feedback).
