Blackboard Ultra: Engagement and Collaboration
Description
This hands-on in-person workshop provides a targeted introduction to the engagement and collaboration tools within Blackboard Ultra. Attendees will begin by developing practice with core communication tools such as Announcements and Messages, exploring how to create, schedule and send to different user groups. Together we will then explore how to create collaborative spaces using Groups that we create within Blackboard and tools such as Discussion Boards and Class Conversations. Lastly, we will explore how module access and engagement data can be accessed, interpreted and used to influence our teaching and learning strategies, identify where intervention may be required.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this session you will be able:
- To develop digital communication skills through tools such as Announcements and Messages.
- To practice different approaches to creating and managing user groups.
- To explore advanced tools such as creating groups by CSV Import or through a ‘sign-up sheet’.
- To surface student voice and promote collaboration through Discussion Boards.
- To review and interpret module content access and engagement data.
- To identify how progress tracking can support the student learning journey.
