An Introduction to Teaching Online

Outline of the session:

This session will highlight key elements that staff need to be aware of when teaching online. This includes looking at key technologies, their features and the different ways in which they can be implemented to support teaching and learning.  
The session will focus on three core tools: Panopto, Microsoft Teams and Collaborate Ultra whilst highlighting the features and different methods of utilising these tools within teaching contexts.  

Learning outcomes:

  • To discuss the different ways in which tools can be used to support teaching and learning activities. 
  • To demonstrate features of the tools and their implementation. 
  • To highlight key teaching methods that can be used synchronously or asynchronously to support teaching activities.
