Planning and designing a Blended Curriculum

10:30 - 12:00

Description

Outline of the session:

This session will support staff with re/designing a curriculum to effectively implement an active-blended learning approach.  We will consider how learning outcomes and skills planning can be used in conjunction with a learning design framework to plan learning activities.  We will discuss the opportunities afforded by synchronous and asynchronous activities and look at how to implement these in a clear and coherent way on Blackboard.

Learning objectives:

  • To identify frameworks and structures that support curriculum design.
  • To recognise opportunities to engage students with synchronous and asynchronous activities.
  • To identify a range of activities that can be adopted into an active blended curriculum.
